Unified Data Management for Modern Manufacturing
Nufab Green, a rapidly expanding manufacturing entity, faced significant hurdles in managing their massive volume of production blueprints, design files, and operational data. Their fragmented legacy storage systems were prone to downtime, lacked a cohesive backup strategy, and posed a significant risk for data loss in the event of hardware failure.
Our Solution
High-Availability Deployment: Dravincon engineered and deployed a High-Availability (HA) Synology NAS cluster. This active-passive setup ensuring that if one controller fails, the secondary unit takes over instantly with zero downtime, protecting critical production workflows.
3-2-1 Backup Strategy: We implemented the industry-standard 3-2-1 backup rule using *Synology Hyper Backup*. Data is backed up across multiple local volumes and synchronized to a secure, encrypted offsite cloud repository, providing robust protection against ransomware and local disasters.
Security Integration: The storage infrastructure was integrated with our central SIEM for real-time file access monitoring and threat detection. We also enabled *Active Backup for Business* to centralize the protection of their endpoints and servers into the Synology ecosystem.
The Results
The transition to a unified Synology ecosystem delivered immediate impact. Nufab Green achieved 100% data availability during scheduled infrastructure maintenance and eliminated the risk of single-point-of-failure. Data retrieval speeds for the design team improved by 60% due to optimized network storage paths. Most importantly, the management now has complete peace of mind knowing their intellectual property is secured by enterprise-grade redundancy and multi-tiered backup protocols.
